Bloom. She is descending

The night before she was diagnosed with ALS, artist Lindsay Abromaitis-Smith dreamed of a goddess made entirely of plants and flowers who told her she had to learn how to physically manifest differently. As she slows down, her body in flux, she finds herself increasingly aligned with the slow, rooted unfurling of life in the plant world. Bloom. She is descending is a show about her experience.

Bloom was performed at Dixon Place in NYC in September 2013 and July 2014, at The Tigermen Den in New Orleans for the P3+ Prospect 3 Biennial in October 2014, and at Five Myles Gallery in Brooklyn, NY on the Winter Solstice 2014. All three shows were produced by Caroline Yes and featured sound and video design by Ankeresse.
